I own a Canon MX922. It is a great printer when it works but it has one major problem. It will start double printing black text with the second print offset from the first. This is only for Black, the other colors work fine.I researched on the internet for solutions. There were several complains to read. I also purchased and installed a new print head. This did not help. The only solution is buy a new printer according to several of the posts I read. Be careful.

Years ago I used an Epson for regular inkjet printing, but it seemed that each printer I bought was good for about one year before the heads would begin to clog and the printer became a boat anchor (pigment ink, unlike the Canon).

Epson offers two printers in their EcoTank line which have the capability to print on CD/DVD/BD. Those models are the ET-7700 and the ET-7750. I have the ET-7700 and have been using it for over a year and am still using ink from the first set of bottles [It comes with two full bottles of each color of ink]. Plus, Epson has the best proprietary label design software IMO.

I have a Brother MFC J870 DW. I has worked for years now I have lost Black an Cyan and all efforts to clean have failed. I need a replacement The Cannon MG7760 is so complex and will not give me the flexibility in setting out the label with what they have been able to suggest. For me it is hopeless. Does anyone know of a printer as simple and flexible as the above mentioned Brother. Thanks Cyril

The Ip 7260 has new DVD label software that is not compatible with the many labels printed with my previous 2 Canon DVD printers. The 7260 worked fine with windows 7 but not when I updated to 10 it changed the printer softer ware to . I contacted canon and got the full run around from 4 different guys. I am rely pissed of at Canon as all my labels are no longer printable unless I go back to windows 7. I purchase 3 sets of 5 ink cartridges from ebay for about $30. For clogged heads soak only the print heads in very shallow dish containing Isocol Rubbing Alcohol.

The problem you have with a different operating system is avoidable if you stay with Epson. I had the same problem years ago with HP printers. They did not provide updated operating system software although that may have changed by this time. I had a business quality HP printer and their business quality scanner and had to dump them when Windows 7 came out. Very frustrating AND costly. Epson has always provided me updated drivers for all Windows and MAC operating systems. They also offer a wide variety of features including models that print on CD/DVD, models with large economical ink tanks, models that connect via wireless using BT or WIFI etc.

What is your favorite and recommended direct-to-CD printer in terms of quality of print, ease of use software (for CD label creation), and high yield on ink (and ink replacement costs)? Would appreciate one recommendation as I make my decision. Thank you!

On the other hand, I am only now replacing my Pixma ip3000 with another Canon model. I refilled the ink tanks myself with a G&G refill kit and as long as I kept up the regular color/disc printing, it worked very well. I had a production gap about two years ago and my blue ink became permanently clogged, so I purchased a new print head and it worked perfectly again. I had another slow down and this time the red decided that it would fail. Now there are no geniune new replacement print heads, so I have to buy another printer.

Epson printers are compatible with various brands of inkjet printable CDs, DVDs and Blu-ray discs, including Memorex, Imation, Maxell, TDK, Verbatim, Mitsui, Ritek, Taiyo Yuden and others. However, results may vary as manufacturers of inkjet printable CDs, DVDs and Blu-ray discs may alter the printable surface without notice.

Access Epson Creative Print with the purchase of any WiFi-enabled Epson printer. You can print your Facebook photos, create collages from your Instagram photos, as well as print onto CD, DVDs, Blu-ray discs and more!

Design disc labels by adding backgrounds, pictures, and text. Print directly from SureThing or use with PrintWrite for full publishing needs. Comes standard with all disc publishers and disc printers.

I had live HP support trying for 2 hours to make it so. (service # 8029699105) It's obvious that the drivers do not accomodate either Roxio express or Roxio Creator 2009 Label Creator. This is a main reason that I bought this device and am very disappointed as to its driver shortcomings. Please remedy this and post a fix ASAP. This is an issue that I see others are experiencing. The HP DVD printing applet works fine but is primitive- the printer should work with one of the most used DVD printing applications.

Years ago, I had HP printers. I swore to never own another HP printer again and went to Canon, which I enjoyed using without problem for many, many years. Canon has now discontinued the ink for that old printer and even though the machine still works great, I started shopping for a new printer. Sams had a Photosmart C309a CD/DVD for less than $200 so I went against my instinct and bought it because I also needed a CD printer. Bad decision.

HP has never made a printer to my knowledge that was well built. This new machine is just a month old and already it is chewing up paper and causing headaches...same as the old HP machines did. The quality is just terrible and the software is nothing special either. Junk. Pure and simple. Canon, here I come...again.

An excellent way to make personal CDs and DVDs is by printing a design onto inkjet printable discs using CD/DVD printers. Instead of writing on discs or using messy labels, you can print a design onto printable disks. These are great if you are burning CDs and want to put the album design on the disk, making it easily identifiable. You can print a design and a title onto a disk of family photographs so you know precisely what is on it, or if you are a budding musician, you can give your home recorded CD a professional touch. Other CD/DVD printers allow you to print photographs directly from a CD/DVD.

There are many different brands who offer a range of CD/DVD printers. These do not print exclusively onto discs, they usually also print regular paper copies and photographs too. Each brand will provide a different range of functionalities as well being able to print onto discs.

For example, the Canon Pixma Pro-100s prints wirelessly from a range of devices such as your phone, laptop or computer and can print in sizes up to A3. To create professional and high-quality CD and DVD prints, the printer uses eight colours and three monochrome inks for enhanced colour quality. As well as this, the Canon Pixma Pro-100s also integrates with professional editing software so that you can create high-quality prints of photographs, CDs, DVDs and posters. 041b061a72
